Try this Quick and Easy Salsa Recipe the next time you are looking to add a little bit of spice to your meal! I am a fan of chips and salsa of all kinds. However, I will not eat salsa if it has cilantro. It is not that I personally have anything against cilantro – except the taste! I can hardly even eat salsa at restaurants if it contains cilantro! Now, if you know me, you know that is crazy because I will eat almost any chips and dips you put in front of me. Sometimes I even say that chips and dip is my favorite meal (as long as it does not contain cilantro)! Because cilantro is in most salsa recipes, I decided to try a salsa recipe of my own and I was actually surprised at how well it turned out! This salsa has the perfect blend of freshness and spice! Plus, it is quick, easy, and makes enough to feed a crowd!

Easy Salsa Recipe

• 2 Cans of Diced Tomatoes – Drained
• 1 Whole Jalapeño
• 1 Medium Onion
• 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
• 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
• 1/2 Teaspoon Sugar
• 2 Teaspoons Lemon Juice

Directions: Put all of the ingredients into a food processor and blend – it is that simple (I diced up my onion and jalapeño before placing them in the food processor so that they would blend in better)!

 

If you would rather, you can choose to use fresh tomatoes instead of canned tomatoes!

Since it is football season, try this recipe now for your next football watch-party, tailgate, or any other special occasion! You could even make it the next time you have Mexican food at your house. Try this salsa with fajitas, tacos, nachos, taco salads, and enchiladas!

Here is a tip: If you let this salsa sit for a while after it has been made, the spices will have a chance to blend together and the flavor will become stronger (it will also get spicier the longer it sits). In my personal experience, I enjoyed the taste of the salsa right after it was made and after it had set a while :). Therefore, do not worry if you don’t have time to make this the day before!

Cut this recipe in half if you do not have a big family to feed, or if you are not making this for a party! Also, if you have little ones at home (or based on your personal preference) you can always use half of a jalapeño so that it is not as spicy.
