How to make Peanut Butter Fudge Recipe with M&Ms!
First, get started by lining a square 9×9″ baking dish with parchment paper.
Now add 2-3″ of water to the bottom part of a double boiler, then place the top pot on top.
Add 3 cups of peanut butter baking chips to the top pot of the double boiler.
Next, add the sweetened condensed milk, butter, and salt.
Heat the ingredients until fully melted and smooth. (Be sure to stir continuously as everything begins melting!)
Once the ingredients have melted, remove the fudge batter from the heat and add in the vanilla.
Next, allow the fudge batter to cool for about 3 minutes.
Now it’s time for a POP of color! Pour about 1/2 cup of mini M&Ms in and gently mix them into the fudge.
Next, pour the fudge batter into the baking dish (the one lined with parchment paper).
Next, sprinkle the rest of the mini M&Ms on top of the fudge. (You may even need to press them into the fudge to make them stick.)
Finally, let your fudge cool at room temperature for about 6 hours, or even overnight (I prefer leaving it overnight.)
Then slice into 16 squares and ENJOY!
Peanut Butter Fudge Recipe with M&Ms
Yields: 16 pieces of fudge
Preparation time: 25 minutes
Baking time: none
Additional time: 6 hours
Ingredients:
3 cups peanut butter baking chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk
3 tablespoons butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 8.60 oz bag of peanut butter M&M Minis
Directions:
Line a 9×9” square baking dish with parchment paper and set aside.
Using a double boiler, fill the bottom portion with 2-3” of water and place the other pot on top.
In the top portion of the double boiler, combine the peanut butter baking chips, sweetened condensed milk, butter, and salt.
Heat over medium heat until everything is melted and smooth – stirring occasionally at first and then continuously as everything starts to melt.
Once melted and smooth, remove from the heat and add the vanilla.
Let the fudge cool in the pan for about 3 minutes before adding about ½ cup of M&Ms to the batter – mix gently only to combine.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and top with remaining M&Ms (sometimes you have to press them into the fudge).
Cover and let the fudge cool at room temperature for at least 6 hours (or overnight).
Cut into 16 pieces and enjoy!
Notes:
– Because of the M&Ms, this fudge doesn’t set well in the refrigerator. Keep it at room temperature so the M&M colors don’t bleed.
– Fudge will take about 6 hours to set completely, but I like to make this recipe ahead of time and let it sit overnight.
– Fudge can be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months in an airtight container, but your M&M colors may bleed a little when it thaws.
