How to make Christmas M&M Cookie Bars
Ready for Christmas? Well, these Christmas M&M Cookie Bars are the PERFECT treat to get you in the holiday spirit!
First, mix together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar in bowl.
Next, add the egg and vanilla. Mix all together until combined.
Then, add in the dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, and salt) and mix until the dough comes together.
After that, gently stir in the mini chocolate chips, the holiday M&Ms, and the holiday sprinkles. (Time to make it festive!)
Now transfer the cookie dough to a prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly. Before baking, add more sprinkles and M&Ms to the top. Now it’s time to BAKE!
Once the cookie is finished baking, add even MORE sprinkles and M&Ms!
Finally, let the cookie cool and then cut it in to squares. Serve and ENJOY!
Christmas M&M Cookie Bars Recipe
Yields: 12 cookie bars
Preparation time: 12 minutes
Baking time: 22 minutes
Additional time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
1 stick of butter (melted)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cup unbleached flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup of mini chocolate chips
1 cup Holiday M&Ms (divided)
1/4 cup holiday sprinkles (divided)
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl, with a fork, combine melted butter, sugar, and brown sugar and mix well.
Add the egg and vanilla and mix until combined.
Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until a soft dough forms.
Fold in mini chocolate chips, 1/4 cup of the holiday M&Ms, and about 1 tablespoon of the holiday sprinkles.
Line a 9 x 13” glass baking dish with parchment paper and pour dough into the prepared dish.
Before baking, top the cookie with most of the leftover sprinkles and M&Ms (save a few for after baking).
Bake for 22-23 minutes or until the edges start to brown and the center looks set (do not over bake).
Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with remaining M&Ms and sprinkles (You may have to press the M&Ms into the cookie)
Let the cookie cool completely in the baking dish or for at least 20 minutes.
Remove the parchment paper from the baking dish and cut into squares using a knife or a pizza cutter. (Option to cut the edges off or leave them).
