We LOVE our dog, Huntley! He is a HUGE part of our family and we only want what’s best for him! That’s why I made this DIY Homemade Dog Shampoo Recipe as a natural, chemical free option for giving him a bath and making him smell fresh and clean!

We try to ditch the toxins as much as we can in our home to create a safe and healthy environment for us and our dog, which is why I’m excited to share this DIY Doggie Shampoo Recipe with you!

Huntley is a 100lb Yellow Lab who LOVES to pose for the camera! His personality is loyal, kind, content, and so much like his best friend – my husband, Ryan! It’s amazing how much the two are so much alike. I love that they have similar personalities and that they are both so easy going and up for an adventure!

Huntley LOVES to play outside and get dirty! He loves jumping in the lake, playing in the fields by our house, and chasing squirrels (it’s pretty much his favorite thing to do), all of that is fine and fun, except for when he comes inside smelling like a dirty dog! Since I’m not a fan of the stinky dog smell, this DIY Dog Shampoo is HUGE for getting him clean and smelling fresh again!

Bath time is a win win situation for me and Huntley, because I love that he gets clean and doesn’t stink anymore, and he loves it because he gets these Rachael Ray™ Nutrish® Hickory Treats, which are real meat treats, before & after his bath!

DIY Homemade Dog Shampoo Recipe

Here’s What You Need:

1 Cup Warm Water

1/4 Cup White Vinegar

1 Tablespoon Natural Soap

1 Tablespoon Baking Soda

2 drops Lavender Essential Oil

2 Drops Peppermint Essential Oil

Directions:

Combine all ingredients into a bottle and shake to mix.

Wet your dog’s coat with warm water and apply shampoo, avoiding the eye area.

Work the shampoo into your dog’s coat creating a thick lather.

Rinse thoroughly and repeatedly.

Dry him off and give him a treat!

White Vinegar has antibacterial and deodorant properties and will leave your dog’s coat shiny and clean! Just be careful to avoid the eye area. Plus, here are the only Essential Oils I feel comfortable using on my pets!
