Homemade Orange Rolls Recipe!
 
Ingredients
  • Sweet Dough:
  • 2½-3 cups unbleached flour
  • 1 tablespoon yeast (or 1 package)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¾ teaspoons salt
  • ¼ cup softened butter
  • ¾ cup hot water
  • 1 egg
  • Filling:
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoon orange zest
  • 4 table spoons freshly squeezed orange juice
  • Icing:
  • ½ stick butter.
  • 8oz cream cheese
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 and ⅓ cup powdered sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons Mandarin Orange Canada Dry Sparkling Water
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Combine 1 cup flour, undissolved yeast, sugar, and salt in large bowl.
  3. Stir well.
  4. Add softened butter.
  5. Add hot tap water to ingredients in bowl.
  6. Beat with electric mixer at medium speed for 2 minutes.
  7. Add egg and ½ cup more flour and best with mixer for an additional 1 minute.
  8. Gradually stir in just enough more flour to make a soft dough.
  9. Place dough on a floured counter and round into a ball.
  10. Knead dough 5-10 minutes or until dough is smooth.
  11. Cover with plastic wrap and then a towel.
  12. Let rest for 20 minutes and punch down.
  13. Roll out into a rectangle and spread orange filling on top.
  14. Roll dough and pinch edges.
  15. Cut ½" rolls and place on greased pan. (Use a 13/9" Glass Pan)
  16. Refrigerate 2-24 hours in fridge.
  17. When ready to bake, remove from refrigerator, let stand 10 minutes,
  18. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 375 degrees.
  19. Remove immediately and place on wire rack.
  20. And ice with orange glaze.
  21. Filling Directions:
  22. Soften butter.
  23. Add sugar, orange juice, and orange zest.
  24. Icing Directions:
  25. Soften Butter and Cream Cheese.
  26. Stir in Vanilla, Powdered Sugar, and Mandarin Orange Canada Dry Sparkling Water
