Rise up: Why it is Important to Vote and Take a Stand!

Why it is important to Vote

I have been thinking a lot lately about the upcoming election and Voting – Why it is Important to Vote and Take a Stand!

There are many reasons Why it is Important to Vote and Take a Stand. I think we should not let an election go by without letting our voice be heard. Freedom, Faith, and the Future Generations are my reasons for being so passionate about voting and getting involved.

1. Freedom

We live in a great country where we have the freedom to vote without fear of persecution or violence. Our freedom in America was bought with the price of many who sacrificed their time, families, and lives to keep this country Free and Strong. The price that the Men and Women who serve our country have paid is a huge one! One that we so many times take for granted. One that we don’t even stop to think about most days of the year. Election day should be a day where we remember why we have the Freedom to Vote and the people who have fought for our freedoms to make that possible. It is owning our small part of this country and exercising the right that has been earned for us!

2. Faith

Christians need to stand up and make their voices heard. As Christians, we can believe the Bible and talk about what needs to be done all day long. But are we stepping up and doing anything about it? I heard the other day that in the last election there were millions of Christians who didn’t even vote! You may not LOVE every single candidate, but vote God and vote for the Values that are in the Bible! Vote for the things that are important to God and the person that can represent those values best. If we just sit at home and don’t do anything then our voices can’t be heard and no one will stand up for the Bible and what we believe!

3. Future Generations

We need to get involved and vote! I went to a Millennials Worship Service the night of the most recent primary election. What I found out after talking to my peers was very disturbing. More than half of the people I talked to ages 20-30 did not even know that there had been an election that day. Of the ones that did know there was an election, none of them had voted! Now, I know this is a small group of people and I didn’t talk to EVERY single person there. But it was very eye opening to see that my generation does not seem to value voting or take seriously the issues at hand.  If we want to continue to live in this great country that has been founded on Christian Principles then we need to RISE UP and let our voices be heard.

Now, I truly believe that God establishes Kings and Kingdoms.

Daniel 2:21 “He changes the times and seasons; He removes kings and establishes kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding”.

I also believe that we are to submit to the governing authorities that God has placed above us since He has established those kings and kingdoms.

Romans 13:1 “Everyone must submit to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those that exist are instituted by God”.

It is truly by the sovereignty of God’s hand that we live in this great country called America. God has blessed our country and the values that our forefathers established from the beginning. We are a country built on godly principles and rooted in the bible. We should want to leave a legacy of freedom, faith, and values to the future generations. We must take a stand and let our voice be heard! A strong America that will fight for Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness!

Now is the time to rise up and pray for the next Great Awakening in our country! Now is the time for Extraordinary Prayer for our country and our leadership! We must do our part of voting, but we must first do our part of PRAYING!

2 Chronicles 7:14 “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land”.

God moves when His people pray. Sometimes it feels like there is nothing we can do, or that our vote doesn’t count, but we must pray for a generation that wants to restore the values and principles that our country was founded on. Freedom, Faith, and the Future Generations are why we must take a stand and vote!

Why it is important to vote and take a stand

Rise Up. Pray. VOTE.
