This is a long-time family favorite recipe that my Mom made for us growing up. It’s one that I would frequently ask for on Birthdays or special occasions! I’m excited to share it with you so that you can enjoy this old-time favorite too!
Triple Chocolate Cake Recipe
Here’s What You Need:
Cake Ingredients:
1 Chocolate Devil’s Food Cake Mix
1 4oz Box of Chocolate Instant Pudding
4 Eggs
1 1/4 Cup of Water
1/2 Cup of Oil
1 12oz Bag of Chocolate Chips
Frosting Ingredients:
1 Stick of Butter Melted
1/3 Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
3 Cups Powdered Sugar
1/3 Cup of Milk
1 Tsp Vanilla
Directions:
Cake Directions:
Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees.
Combine all cake ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
Pour mixture into a well greased bunt pan and bake for 40 minutes.
(Cooking time will vary depending on size of bunt pan and oven. Check after 40 minutes by putting a knife or tooth pick into the bottom of the cake and see if it comes out “clean”. Add extra time if needed.)
Once done, allow cake to cool completely.
Frosting Directions:
Combine Butter, milk, and Cocoa until mixed well.
Add in Powdered Sugar and mix completely.
Add in vanilla.
If you want your cake to be even more rich, add an extra 1/3 of cocoa powder to the icing.
Pour frosting over cooled cake and let sit before cutting.
