This Chocolate Chip Pie is one of my Aunt’s signature dessert that she is famous for and has blessed me with the recipe, tips and tricks, and being able to share it with you!
Thanks to my Aunt, this pie was always one of my favorite desserts. I love the combination of chocolate chip, coconut, and pecans!
Plus, it’s different from a pecan pie with chocolate chips in it. The texture is amazing and it works for anytime – not just Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
For this recipe, I used this Easy Pie Crust Recipe with Cream Cheese. An easy made-from-scratch pie crust without shortening!

How to make chocolate chip pie from scratch?
This pie is super easy to make. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees. I like to start by gathering up all of my ingredients and either making my pie crust and chilling it in the fridge, or using a pre-made crust and setting it out of the refrigerator (see pie crust hack below).
In a medium sized microwaveable bowl, combine all of the ingredients below in order. I start by melting my butter in the bowl before I add anything else.
Add in flour, sugar, and vanilla and mix well.
In a small bowl, beat your eggs before you add them to your pie mixture.
Add mini chocolate chips (you can use regular sized chocolate chips, but mini are ALWAYS my favorite for baking.
Stir in chopped pecans and coconut.
Pour pie mixture into unbaked pie crust and bake for 50 minutes (depending on your oven, you can check at 45 minutes and watch it closely so that it doesn’t over bake).
If the top starts to crack at 50 or 55 minutes then your pie is done.
Remove pie from the oven and cool on a cooling rack for 2 hours or more to firm up. If you’re just aching to dig in to the pie, it’s still delicious if you eat it warm, it just won’t be firm 😉

How do you know when chocolate chip pie is done?
Your pie should only take 45-50 minutes to bake depending on your oven. However, if your pie starts to crack on the top at 50 or 55 minutes then take it out because it’s done. You don’t want your pie to crack on top.
