Valentine’s Day Mini Heart Cookies Recipe
Here’s What You Need:
1 Package of Sugar Cookie Mix (& Ingredients to make it according to the back of the package – my package needed 1 egg and 1 stick of butter)
8 oz Cream Cheese
1/2 Stick of Butter
1 1/3 Cup Powdered Sugar
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
Red Food Coloring
Wilton Pearl Sprinkles
Dog Bone Cookie Cutter or Mini Heart Cookie Cutter
Directions:
Prepare cookies using directions on the back of the package.
Sprinkle parchment paper with flour and roll dough out pretty thin.
Use the Mini Dog Bone Cookie Cutter and pinch it together in the middle.
Cut out cookies and place them on a non-stick cookie sheet or silpat baking sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 6-7 minutes or until the edges start to lightly brown. Do not over cook.
Remove from oven and leave the cookies on the baking sheet.
Allow cookies to cool completely before adding frosting.
Cream Cheese Frosting:
Soften Cream Cheese & Butter.
Add in Vanilla and Mix Well.
Slowly add in Powdered Sugar & Mix Well.
Add red rood dye with a toothpick so that the colors do not get too dark.
Mix well.
You can either pipe the frosting on the cookies or use a knife to spread. Top with Pearl Sprinkles and enjoy! You can even make double doozies with these cookies! Super cute (and delicious)!
