Then add in the dry ingredients (flour, baking cocoa, baking soda, and salt).
Stir in the chocolate chunks and mini chocolate chips into the cookie dough until fully incorporated. (Make sure to save some for garnishing at the end!)
Next, use a cookie scoop to make the cookie dough balls and place them on a prepared baking sheet. Time to BAKE!
Once the cookies are finished baking, add more chocolate chunks and mini chocolate chips for the finishing touches. The heat from the baked cookies will melt the added chocolate (YUM!)
Finally, transfer the cookies to a cooling rack to finish cooling. Enjoy!
Triple Chocolate Cookies Recipe
Yields: 18 cookies
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 10 Minutes
Additional time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsalted butter – softened
3/4 cup granulated white sugar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup unbleached flour
1/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups chocolate chunks (divided)
1 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips (divided)
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium sized mixing bowl, cream butter, white sugar, and brown sugar together.
Add egg and vanilla and mix well.
Stir in flour, baking cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
Add 1 cup of chocolate chunks and ¾ cup mini chocolate chips (save the rest for garnishing) and stir until combined.
Using a two tablespoon cookie scoop, roll cookie dough balls and place them 2” apart on the prepared cookie sheet.
Bake for 9-10 minutes. Look for the edges and center to be set, but the center still slightly gooey (cookies will finish baking on the cookie sheet after they are removed from the oven).
Remove from the oven and immediately press extra chocolate chunks and chocolate chips into the cookies (option to leave these untouched or spread the chocolate around once they melt).
Let cookies cool on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes before moving to a cooling rack to cool.
Serve warm and gooey or let cool completely.
Notes:
● Feel free to substitute chocolate chips for white chocolate or milk chocolate.

What is triple chocolate?
Triple Chocolate Cookies get their name because there are three types of chocolate packed into these cookies!
They are packed with baking cocoa, mini chocolate chips, and chocolate chunks. You could use white chocolate chips if you’d like instead of the mini chocolate chips.
