How to Make 4th of July Cake Mix Cookies
Start by preheating your oven to 350 and line a baking sheet with parchment paper! You can use a silpat baking mat, but I just like parchment paper personally.
In a medium sized mixing bowl (i like these personally) stir the cake mix, eggs, and butter together.
Add 3/4 cup of M&Ms, 1/3 cup of white chocolate Chips, and 1/4 cup of sprinkles to the batter.
Mix until combined. You can refrigerate your dough here for about 30 minutes so it becomes less sticky, or you can just shape your dough from here.
Use a two tablespoon cookie scoop to create cookie dough balls.
You will need two cookie dough balls per cookie so they are about 4 tablespoons or 1/4 cup of cookie dough.
Roll the cookie dough balls together and press the down till they are about 1/4 – 1/2″ thick on the baking sheet. Spread them out so they have room to spread.
I put 5 cookies on each baking sheet.
Bake for 9-10 minutes or until you start to see signs of browning on the cookies – do not over bake.
Remove from the oven and let stand on the cookie sheet for at least 10 minutes. While they cool, put extra M&Ms and white chocolate chips on half of the cookie and let cool completely.
Once the cookies are cooled, melt the remaining white chocolate in the microwave in 30 second increments until almost melted completely and stir well (use the residual heat to melt the remaining lumps).
Dip each cookie (the half that doesn’t have the extra M&Ms) into the white chocolate and put on a cooling rack.
Garnish the white chocolate dipped half with sprinkles and let cool completely.
If you have any white chocolate remaining, drizzle the dipped half with more white chocolate and add a few more sprinkles – this is just for garnishing and to make them look like a firecracker!
Let the chocolate set completely or serve melty!

What is the difference between a cake mix and a cookie mix?
The biggest difference between these two “box mixes” is what you add to them to get the end result. Sometimes you can add what is on the package, but if you change it a little you can tweak the recipe for some amazing results!
Can I make this recipe with a different flavor of Cake Mix?
I have found most cake mixes to be interchangeable between recipes. You can use the same recipe with a different flavor and get pretty great results!
