How to Make Cookie Dough Cookies
Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees and line a couple of baking sheets with parchment paper. You can use a silpat baking mat, but I prefer parchment paper.
Grab a medium sized mixing bowl and cream the butter, brown sugar, and sugar together.
Add the egg and vanilla and mix well.
Stir in the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt until a soft dough forms.
Use a two tablespoon cookie scoop to create cookie dough balls and place them about 2″ apart on the baking sheet.
Bake the cookies for 9 minutes or just until the edges start to brown.
Remove them from the oven and let the cookies cool completely on the baking sheet. Shape the cookies with a cookie cutter or cup so the edges are nice and round.
While the cookies cool, make the frosting by beating the butter until it’s smooth.
Add the vanilla and powdered sugar.
Transfer the frosting to a zippered bag and cut the tip off.
Frost the outside edges of the cookie first and then add a little dot in the middle.
Use a knife to smooth the frosting over the cookies but don’t mess up the clean and smooth edges.
Garnish with cookie dough pieces and mini chocolate chips.

A deep vanilla and brown sugar flavor!
Why do people like cookie dough so much?
I don’t know if it’s the memories of eating cookie dough out of the batter before you bake the cookies or just the smooth and creamy texture of the dough before it’s baked.
I know I have memories of my aunts telling us to save them the cookie dough and not to bake it all!
I am the type of person who can’t eat raw cookie dough b/c i’m too afraid of getting sick – HA!
I will opt for the edible cookie dough or cookie dough cookies every time – but I love the vanilla and brown sugar flavor!
Do cookie dough cookies need to be refrigerated?
The only part of this cookie that needs to be refrigerated are the cookie dough bites.
The cookies and frosting can be kept at room temperature.
If you are needing to make these ahead of time just add the garnishing before serving or store the cookies in the refrigerator.
