Is it safe to eat edible cookie dough?

Yes! Absolutely! If it’s labeled at the store or if you are making it at home, you can be sure that the ingredients are safe to eat raw and unbaked. This recipe does not contain any eggs or raw ingredients that would need to be baked.

Can I bake edible cookie dough?

No, this recipe is not for baking cookies, but for eating raw. Most likely your ingredients would burn in the oven if you tried to bake it because it doesn’t have all of the normal ingredients for baking such as flour, eggs, and oil.

How long can edible cookie dough last?

Edible cookie dough can last in the refrigerator for up to one month, or in the freezer for up to 6 months. This makes it the perfect make-ahead dessert recipe for the holidays or a party!

My favorite part about this recipe is how easy it is to make! Here are some step by step directions if you want to follow along!

Combine your butter and peanut butter in a medium sized microwave safe bowl. If you butter isn’t already softened, heat it in the microwave for about 30 seconds. You don’t want it melted, just softened.

Don’t forget to add the vanilla! You can leave this step out, but I love the flavor of added vanilla to this recipe!

Once your peanut butter/butter mixture is smooth, you can add in the powdered sugar. This step will make the dough crumbly and thick. You can add less powdered sugar if you want a more sticky consistency, but I think this is the perfect amount!

Chop your Reese’s Cups into different size pieces and add them to the cookie dough!

Pour in the Reese’s Pieces and stir to combine!

Chop Reese’s Cups into pieces and add Reese’s Cups and Reese’s Pieces to the batter.

Use a cookie scoop to create individual sized portions in small bowls or cups!

I love this mini square plates at the Dollar Tree! So easy to whip together in just a few minutes and a crowd favorite!
