The Holidays are here, and I am excited to share my Homemade Cinnamon Streusel Recipe & Peppermint Traditions with you!
The Homemade Cinnamon Streusel Recipe & Peppermint Tradition are some of my favorite things about Christmas. Now the Cinnamon Streusel Recipe is a family favorite that my mom likes to make all year long – special occasions or Sunday mornings. She has passed this recipe on to me and I am excited to share it with you. This is one of my favorite breakfast recipes, so I’m glad to be able to make it in my home! It makes the house smell so wonderful and warm! Plus, here are even more of my favorite Recipes!
Cinnamon Streusel also seems to be a tradition for our family on Christmas morning. We eat Cinnamon Streusel, watch the Christmas parade, read the Christmas Story, and open gifts! It is something I really look forward to every year – time with the family, food, and fun!
One of our new(ish) and FUN family traditions has become one of my favorites. This Christmas tradition actually came back around a couple of years ago. We showed up for Christmas with our big family at my Grandmother’s house and there was a 2 pound Candy Cane Peppermint Stick and a hammer.
Apparently my mom and her sisters used to break up the Peppermint Stick with a hammer and eat the broken pieces! My aunt brought back this tradition a couple of years ago and it has become a favorite with the new generation!
We now have a large peppermint stick at my mom’s house every Christmas! It’s so much fun to see family members walk by and hammer off a piece of peppermint! It’s perfect for snacking on all day long (and fun for the kids and adults too)!
This is one of the Christmas traditions that I want to keep around when I have kids of my own! I love that it is a super simple way to get everyone involved (and it’s yummy too)! You can also think of this as a nice “stress reliever” with all of your family members around :).
Here is the Homemade Cinnamon Streusel Recipe for you to share with your family this Christmas season!
