What you need for Easy Strawberry Sugar Cookies
- You will need butter, sugar, vanilla, egg, flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
- For the glaze, combine water, sugar, strawberries, powdered sugar, and vanilla.
- Cookie Scoop, Baking Sheet, Parchment Paper, Cooling Rack.
How to make Strawberry Sugar Cookies
Start by creaming together the butter, sugar, vanilla, and egg together in a large mixing bowl. And then add the flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda to create your sugar cookie dough.
Create 1″ cookie dough balls and put them about 2″ apart on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 9-10 minutes and remove from the oven – do not over bake.
Leave the cookies on the baking sheet when you remove it from the oven and let the cookies cool for 5-10 minutes before transferring to a cooling wrack. This is a great time to make the Strawberry Glaze!
Spoon or drizzle the strawberry glaze over the cookies and let the glaze cool completely!
Easy Strawberry Sugar Cookies Recipe
Yields: 17 Cookies
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Baking time: 10 minutes
Additional time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
1 cup of white granulated sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 egg
1.5 cups unbleached flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees .
Combine butter, sugar, vanilla, and egg.
Add flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and create 1” cookie balls and place them about 2” apart on the baking sheet.
Bake for 9-10 minutes or until the edges start to brown.
While the cookies bake, make the strawberry glaze (directions below).
Remove the cookies from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
Spoon or drizzle strawberry glaze over cookies and let cool completely until glaze hardens.
Option to dust with powdered sugar.
